Jupiter Mission 1999

Alien Complex Map

After successfully completing the lunar lander action sequence of the game, players will need to explore a maze-like alien facility. This sequence of the game has players starting at the entrance in the upper left corner with the goal of reaching the control station at the bottom left. Once this location is reached, a shield is lowered and players will be able to land at the alien base on one of the other planets. Just above the control room is a records room; picking up each possible disk and playing it in the computer at the top of the room will reveal the story of the alien invasion. To successfully reach the end of the maze, several keys along with the ray gun for vaporizing rocks will need to be acquired in order to get past multiple locked doors and other obstacles. Some doors and lifts can also be unlocked by accessing nearby computer terminals (the striped yellow/green objects). Once the end of the maze is reached, players will then need to navigate back to the starting location, however this time the lights will be out making the maze invisible. Text descriptions are still available and provide clues as to the player's current location in the maze. The graphics shown are from the Atari 400/800 version, however the Commodore 64 version has an identical maze although the colors vary.
