The Super Action Controller for the ColecoVision was an attempt to design a more ergonomic version of the original ColecoVision Joystick while adding a few new unique features that games could utilize. The controller featured a joystick, numeric keypad, and an analog wheel on the top along with four additional buttons on the hand grip. The Super Action Controller worked with any game that supported the original joystick, however the numeric keypad was a different size with different style buttons so the original keypad overlays wouldn't fit. Some games required the Super Action Controller as they made use of the analog wheel and/or the additional trigger buttons. Super Action games included overlays which were designed to fit the altered keypad.
