Commercial (Unreleased)
- Overview
- Games
Commercial (Unreleased) is part of the category Business Model.
Some games were intended to be released commercially, but were cancelled by the publisher prior to release for one reason or another. This attribute indicates games where development was known to have begun (or even been completed) but the game had no official release at the time. Reasons for cancellation were varied and included the publisher going bankrupt, the video game crash of 1983, lack of confidence in the game, changes in corporate management and/or priorites, and more. Often prototype versions of the game have since been found and may now be available on the internet, and there are also a handfull of cases where incomplete prototypes were later completed by another developer and released as a homebrew version.
