(View for All Systems)
CGA Composite (Grayscale) is part of the category Display Hardware Supported.
The IBM CGA card could be connected to either an RGB monitor or a composite monitor or TV. Use of a black & white T.V. or monitor was supported, and the CGA card had the ability to enable or disable the color burst signal to better support different composite displays. Changing this setting would still display 4 colors if you were using an RGB display, however it would switch the colors to the alternate white/cyan/red palette; on composite displays disabling the setting changed the image to grayscale. Some games supported a grayscale setting to provide a better/clearer image for users with a black & white display. Both the low intensity and high intensity palette variations were available in this mode.
