Thunderboard was an 8-bit sound card introduced by MediaVision. It was compatible with Creative Labs' Sound Blaster and the Adlib Music Synthesizer card and had similar features and sound quality. It included an Adlib and Sound Blaster compatible 11 voice FM synthesizer (OPL2) and 22 Khz digital audio along with an additional 44.1KHz digital audio mode. The Thunderboard was intended to be a lower cost alternative to MediaVision's Pro Audio Spectrum.
