Overview
IBM PC version of Advance to Boardwalk
On each turn, players roll three dice. Two of the dice are standard 6-sided dice; the third die has colors on four sides as well as the letters "W" and "F". The two standard dice indicate how much money can be spent on construction for the turn as well as how far the players token is moved up the boardwalk; the third die represents either which colored area players can build in (wild if "W" is thrown) or if the player instead draws a fortune card (an "F" is thrown). Fortune cards can be played at end of each turn and can either help the player or hinder opponents by awarding bonuses, allowing players to take over opponent hotels, create natural disasters, and more. Players also have secret cards; these provide insurance which block events such as hurricanes that would otherwise cause a player to lose property.
The game ends either when a player has no more hotel pieces to place on the game board or when a player reaches the top of the boardwalk. The winner is the player with the most money invested in property (or, in the event of a tie, the player that owns the largest number of properties).
