CocoNuts is an action game released for the Atari 2600 by Telesys in 1982. In the game players control Stanley the intrepid jungle explorer; Coco the monkey is up in the trees throwing coconuts which need to be avoided.

Gameplay

The game screen in CocoNuts consists of two palm trees with Stanley at the bottom of the screen and Coco the monkey jumping along the tops of the trees. As Stanley, players can run left or right and need to dodge all of the coconuts thrown to earn points. At the start of the game Stanley is equipped with an umbrella and a helmet for protection from the coconuts. After the first time he is hit, the umbrella is lost; after a second hit, the helmet is gone. Without any protection, a final hit from a coconut ends the game. As the game progresses, the coconuts are thrown more frequently and move faster and faster. Points are earned for each coconut dodged; after achieving 500 points and again at 1500 points one piece of lost equipment is restored. Two difficulty settings are included which affect how fast Stanley can run.
