Overview
Arcade version of Galaxian
Gameplay
In Galaxian players control a spaceship located at the bottom of the screen; the spaceship can move left or right and is capable of firing one shot at a time. At the top of the screen are several rows of the Galaxian invaders which need to be destroyed. The Galaxians move in a group back and forth, and unlike in Space Invaders do not move lower on screen when they reverse direction. The Galaxians attack the player by firing shots at the player and by flying towards the player in a kamikaze attack. After all of the Galaxians are destroyed, a new swarm of Galaxians appears with a higher level of difficulty. Players begin the game with a limited number of spaceships, and the game ends when all spaceships have been destroyed.
