Overview
IBM PC version of Story Machine
Gameplay
The game screen in Story Machine shows a large open area at the top of the screen along with an area at the bottom where players can type simple sentences. The game includes a dictionary of various nouns and verbs which can be used in the story; as the player types out their story, the nouns indicated will appear on the screen and after the story is completed the described actions are performed. For example, if the player enters "The cat walks to the fence", the program will animate a cat walking over to a fence. Up to four actors can be included in a story; included with the program is a complete list of the verbs and nouns the program understands, or the list can be viewed from within the game itself.
